Roots and Shoots Nepal Program

Founded in 1991 by Dr. Jane Goodall and a group of Tanzanian students, the Roots & Shoots program is about making positive change happen—for our human communities, for animals and for the environment. With hundreds of thousands of young people in more than 120 countries, the Roots & Shoots Network connects youth who share a desire to create a better world. Through service projects, campaigns and inspirational educational programs, Roots & Shoots is helping youth create a hopeful tomorrow.

Established in January 2002, Roots and Shoots Nepal engages Nepali youth in various campaigns and school level activities aimed at animal conservation. At Present, Roots and Shoots Nepal is promoting vulture conservation, environmental education while simultaneously curbing wildlife trade and snake charming in the region.
